Within the Data Science workflow, AI is becoming an ever-more important technique for the analysis of heterogeneous data, whether these consist of numeric, textual, audio, visual, geo-spatial, or biometric information. The DSAI team applies Data Science methods and tools to provide AI applications at scale as a basis for automated support to better understand the data.
AIT’s Data Science & Artificial Intelligence unit (DSAI) offers Data Science research services or classical approaches for scalable Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. The multidisciplinary team provides data science consulting and solutions for making informed decisions based on large, heterogeneous, and real-time data under strict conditions of IT security and data protection. Trustworthy AI, compliant with the European AI-Act regulations, is a core focus, ensuring AI systems are reliable, transparent, and ethically sound. A key resource is the DSAI GPU Cluster that is used for the training of Machine Learning algorithms. DSAI is composed of the Multimodal Analytics and Computer Vision research field to drive the DSAI-relevant research topics.
Multimodal Analytics
The Multimodal Analytics research field combines various research branches in to address highly complex tasks that often have large impacts on societal or economic values. In the context of digital safety and security, we address all modalities and the combination thereof, including text, audio, time-series, geo-spatial, and biometric data. Read more
Computer Vision
In the Computer Vision research field, we consult and develop innovative safety and security solutions relevant to authorities, critical infrastructures, and industries. Our digital solutions are based on visual/optical data from media sources, optical sensors, or immersive technologies to enable a quick understanding of relevant content. This allows informed decision-making based on trustworthy and appropriately processed data. Read more
