Time-slot management made easy

26.01.2021
New AIT tool for efficient visitor management

The innovative ticketing & time slot system "Ticcu" avoids queues, shortens waiting times and enables flawless visitor management through defined time slots. Thus, the PopUp Ticketing & Time Manager project of the AIT Center for Technology Experience supports the social distancing strategy and helps companies and organizations to better manage their customers and visitors during daily operations. In its basic version Ticcu is available as an open source solution.

Expert interviews to determine the requirements

The requirements for the PopUp Ticketing & Time Manager tool were defined in the course of an expert survey with representatives from the event, education and retail sectors, and concept proposals for the system were derived from this. The expert interviews already clearly showed the importance of such a tool for compliance with the legal and regulatory guidelines and requirements for corona prevention in these areas.

Persuasive design strategies

The tool makes use of persuasive design strategies for a targeted behavior control of the visitors. These support visitors in the correct implementation of behavioral measures, such as not exceeding a pre-booked time period or planning the arrival and departure to the event in advance. The design concept and thus also the implementation of the persuasive strategies were evaluated by experts, again representatives from the aforementioned fields, and found to be very practical and beneficial.

Ticcu: the tool for simplified capacity management

Moonshiner and AIT develop the PopUp Time-Slot Management Tool Ticcu. Ticcu enables easy booking and management of time slots for companies and events. The PopUp principle enables a quick use of the tool in different use cases and can be quickly and efficiently deployed or adapted for the specific scenarios.
