In disasters and emergencies, every second counts when it comes to saving lives, treating the injured and minimising damage. First responders on the ground need accurate information about the current situation. Automated unmanned aerial vehicles can provide this information in real time. They enable rapid assessment and evaluation of the situation and efficient deployment of resources.
Following an invitation by the Austrian Armed Forces, the AIT Centre for Vision, Automation & Control will present its research in the field of automated aviation. The focus is on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for real-time airborne information in emergency situations.
