RISIS International Conference 23

Nov 06-08

RISIS ("Research Infrastructure for Research and Innovation Policy Studies") is the first pan-European research infrastructure for the support and further development of science and innovation studies in the RTI policy context. This infrastructure is intended to give new impulses to empirical innovation research and provide an improved information basis for the design and evaluation of RTI policy in Europe. It offers researchers from all over Europe central and free access to the infrastructure's information and knowledge base. This opens up new possibilities for empirical work on relevant research questions in innovation research and RTI policy, but also in economics, economic geography or the social sciences in general.

From November 6th to 8th, the RISIS International Conference will take place at Vienna TechGate  and the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology team is looking forward to meeting you there. The overall topic of the conference will be “A new generation research infrastructure to access integrated data and indicators for Science and Innovation Studies”. Throughout these three days, you’ll have the opportunity to explore demonstrations of datasets, tools, and methods, as well as research studies that have utilized RISIS data to benefit a larger external audience.

At the conference you will find:

  • Plenary sessions focusing on core integrative assets produced, specifically relevant for future maintenance of RISIS (RCF, datasets/indicators, SDGs, geography/firms)
  • Parallel sessions on more specialised outcomes from datasets and/or tools, including research studies from users
  • Policy panel – The value added of RISIS to study the economic and social change: A policy perspective

Local organizing committee

Thomas Scherngell, Georg Zahradnik, Beatrice Fröhlich-Rath, Michael Barber, Anna Wolfmayr, Matthias Weber (all AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Center for Innovation Systems & Policy)
