"From Gender Policy to Diversity-Oriented Gender Equality Policy in the Austrian Higher Education and Research Area" is the title of a new publication recently presented by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS).
In text contributions by more than 40 authors and with a volume of more than 400 pages, concepts and developments of gender equality policy in the Austrian higher education and research area in the years 2000 to 2022 are documented and reflected in the European and national context. In doing so, the BMBWF closes a gap in documentation as far as content is concerned, because up to the year 2000, progress in the area of gender equality is depicted in earlier publications of the series Materials for the Promotion of Women in Science.
The project started in spring 2022, followed by workshops in June and September 2022, to which the authors were invited to work together on the status quo analysis and the recommendations for action. The book presentation took place in a festive setting on 14 June 2023 in the Aula der Wissenschaften.
