SHOTPROS at the EU Open Day in Brussels

11.05.2023
Markus Murtinger and Helmut Schrom-Feiertag from the AIT Center for Technology Experience presented the VR training system for the police.

Train. Decide. Act – and save lives. The Horizon 2020 project SHOTPROS was invited to exhibit at the EU Open Day in the EU Commission building (Berlaymont building) last Saturday 6 May. The numerous visitors visibly enjoyed slipping into the role of a police officer and trying out the VR training. In the Shotpros project (https://shotpros.eu), 13 partners from 6 European countries have developed a virtual reality (VR) training solution for the police.

From the AIT Center for Technology Experience, project coordinator Markus Murtinger and AIT project manager Helmut Schrom-Feiertag were personally on site in Brussels. Birgit Harthum from USECON - Experience Design & Consulting, Chris Haarmeijer and Lucas Tiemens from RE-liON and Günther F. Dauwen from Campus Vesta as well as trainers from the Berlin police made the demo possible and informed the visitors about the project. The new Meta Quest Pro headset was used for the demo. By the way, our stand neighbours were Frontex and Europol.
