On 21st and 22nd September 2022 Austrian energy industry gathered at the so far biggest industry event themed “Energy future now!”.
Climate crisis, market distortion and political conflicts pose unprecedented challenges. Secure, clean and affordable energy supply is the key for a bright future – but how can this work?
More than 700 participants of the hybrid event were able to visit the more than 40 exhibitors at their digital and on the spot – booths and follow the vivid discussions at the podium to learn more about this topic and to gain new insights.
In eight sessions experts addressed highly topical regional and national aspects as well as European facets – from energy policy and energy security to the questions how people can be inspired to follow the new paths in energy industry.
Besides numerous prominent speakers from politics and economy also AIT Austrian Institute of Technology was strongly represented. The AIT Center for Energy owned both a digital booth and one on the spot and Tara Esterl, Head of Competence Unit Integrated Energy Systems was part of an expert panel discussing strong networks for an energy world of the future.
On 5th of October 2022 a deep dive-webinar on the same topic took place, also with Tara Esterl and with Helfried Brunner, Thematic Coordinator Power System Planning and Operation at AIT. This year these webinars were initiated to have a more profound look at selected congress topics and took place on a weekly basis following the congress for four weeks.
The next Osterreichs Energie Congress is scheduled for 18th – 19th September 2024 in Carinthia, at the Congress Center Villach.
