Where are most startups founded? How are they financed? What trends are emerging? These and many other questions are answered in the Austrian Startup Monitor. Under the direction of the AIT Center for Innovation Systems & Policy, the ASM provides an annual overview of the development of the Austrian startup scene. For this purpose, startups are identified and surveyed about the Austrian startup ecosystem and their prospects in annual online surveys. The project is carried out together with Austrian Startups and the WU Gründerzentrum.
Startups create new markets with innovative products and services and are of great importance for growth and structural change in the economy. In recent years, a lively startup scene has emerged in Austria and numerous private and public initiatives are striving to improve the breeding ground and the chances of success for startups. A special focus of the Austrian Startup Monitor 2021 is on female founders and spinoffs.
