Dynamic route planning for a sustainable balance between flexibility and foresight in efficient transport handling

06.09.2021
AIT expert Ulrike Ritzinger reports on the latest findings of this seemingly contradictory requirement in the newsletter of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik Österreich

Route planning is a complex process in which traffic and the weather have to be taken into account. But the growing dynamics of the order situation are also becoming increasingly relevant. For example, many customers often want their delivery to be delivered on the same day.

For both dynamic and predictive planning, AIT expert Ulrike Ritzinger has developed an algorithm, embedded in a simulation, that makes it possible to determine a route optimization for the fastest transport route within one second.

AIT expert Ulrike Ritzinger explains that the data basis for the use of new technologies is essential in order to be able to use the developed algorithms as effectively as possible.
