Algorithm for the identification and evaluation of waste heat sources
The "MEMPHIS 2.0" project is essentially based on the "MEMPHIS" project. The aim is to further develop the existing "Waste Heat Explorer". In this context, AIT a) identified and analysed future waste heat sources, which included the decarbonisation of industrial processes and their effects on existing waste heat potentials, as well as waste heat from supermarkets, commercial cooling, electrolysis processes and data centres. Furthermore, b) a GIS tool for techno-economic assessment of waste heat use was developed, which determines the economic feasibility of utilization based on the heat quantity and temperature levels of the source and consumer as well as costs for pipelines, heat pumps, and storage.
