Scenarios and measures for climate neutrality 2040

Energy demand in the entire Pinzgau region (Salzburg) is characterised by tourism with high electricity consumption and peak loads, while fossil fuels dominate the heat supply and mobility sector. The aim of the project is to create a consistent approach for a 100% renewable Pinzgau (heat and electricity supply, and minimisation of mobility emissions). For this purpose, various stakeholders were involved in workshops, data regarding energy consumption and renewable energy sources were summarised and the future use of wind, PV, CHP, heating plants and heat pumps in heating networks was modelled and important measures were derived.
