Industrial Crane Control with fun factor

13 February Closing event of the CRANEium project in Linz with the project partners AIT and Industrie-Logistik-Linz, funded by the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labour (AK OÖ).
 

As part of an innovative cooperation project between Industrie-Logistik-Linz GmbH and the AIT Centre for Technology Experience, a pioneering prototype for the remote control of indoor cranes has been developed within two years. This project was significantly supported by the Future Fund of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labour. The CRANEium project was presented at a closing event in Linz on 13 February.

The prototype for indoor crane control is the basis for the crane operator workplace of the future and offers a number of advantages:

- Crane operator in the office or "home office"

- Ergonomic workplace and less "back pain"

- Making the job description more attractive

- Job option also for people with disabilities

- Reduction in accidents at work

- Simple shift changes

- Increase in productivity
