RISIS ("Research Infrastructure for Research and Innovation Policy Studies") is the first first pan-European research infrastructure for the support and further development of science and innovation studies in the RTI policy context. This infrastructure is intended to give new impulses to empirical innovation research and provide an improved information basis for the design and evaluation of RTI policy in Europe. It offers researchers from all over Europe centralised and free access to the infrastructure's information and knowledge base. This opens up new possibilities for the empirical processing of relevant research questions in innovation research and RTI policy, but also in economics, economic geography and the social sciences in general.
The AIT organised the RISIS International Conference from 6-8 November in Vienna. There was a lively exchange on new applications and developments in the RISIS data infrastructure. The conference topics included the dynamics of start-ups, scale-ups and fast-growing companies or R&D in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to numerous parallel and plenary sessions, there was also a policy panel that discussed how studies and analyses using the RISIS data infrastructure can support RTI policy decisions.
