The Minerva Award has been presented annually since 2021 to honor people, companies and brands that are committed to promoting and supporting women in leadership positions. AIT Gender & Diversity Officer Prof. Dr. Elke Guenther, Head of Center for Health and Bioresources, is nominated this year in the category "Role Model/ Female Leader".
The award is given to women who, by setting an example, encourage others to follow their own way in their careers and demonstrate solutions for successful career paths. The award is presented in various categories and honors successful best-practice examples that are intended to inspire and motivate other companies to also take on responsibility. It aims to raise awareness of the importance of gender equality and diversity in leadership positions and to contribute to the advancement of women in leadership positions. Nadia Weiss, journalist and initiator of the Minerva Award by SHEconomy, explains the award: "This award is dedicated to all those who promote, make visible or live female innovative spirit and assertiveness".
Voting will be open starting Monday, Feb. 13, 2023. The award will be presented by the SHEconomy editorial team, presented by Editor-in-Chief Michaela Ernst at the grand ORF gala on March 26.
