The largest biocontrol exhibition went digital in 2020 and AIT was part of it

The Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) is the most important event in the field of biocontrol. This year it took place digitally from 19-21 October, AIT was present with a booth.

Due to the international situation, this year's ABIM took place digitally from 19-21 October. For this purpose, a whole exhibition hall was digitally set up for the 232 presenting companies, and both exhibitors and the 500 participants from 30 countries could move through the information stands with avatars.

ABIM is considered the most important event for the rapidly growing biological pest control industry, presenting the latest products, developments and research areas of the industry, creating new networks and informing policy makers and regulators about the needs and developments. The Center for Health & Bioresources with the experts of the Competence Unit Bioresources from Tulln has been represented with a stand at the ABIM for many years and has earned a reputation in the industry as a top partner for the development and evaluation of new biocontrol products.

Business developer Stefan Pfeiffer, Competence Unit Bioresources, presented a wide range of innovative solutions at the unit's digital booth. These include microbial bioeffectors from the AIT microbial strain collection as well as the further development of industrial products and tailor-made solutions for detection and functional verification.

The organizers of the virtual ABIM attached particular importance to giving the participants an authentic feeling. The venue was recreated including stands, meeting rooms and auditoriums. The industry meeting is planned to take place again in 2021 in Basel, Switzerland.
