On September 9th, 2015, the Innovation Award was given by Economic County Council Dr. Michael Strugl at the ORF regional studio in Upper Austria. The Innovation Award Upper Austria 2015 in the category "Research" went to the LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen with the project "Kryo-Alu". The LKR with industry partners from Austria and Germany submitted a project for sheet metal forming at extremely low temperatures (cryogenic) up to -170 °C. The jury was particularly impressed by the good results of the extraordinary research project.
