NAMDIATREAM ELECTED BEST European project

03.07.2015
Award at the EuroNanoForum!

NAMDIATREAM has been selected as best project out of over 1000 EU launched under the EU Funding Instruments in the field of nanotechnologies and advanced materials. NAMDIATREAM was announced as winner of The FutureFlash! Best Project competition by Clara de la Torre (Director General of the European Commission Directorate for Research and Innovation) at the gala event of the EuroNanoForum2015 in Riga in the attendance of over 1500 participants.

The project was led by Trinity College Dublin and comprised four distinct technology platforms, altogether integrating 22 partners from 10 European countries. AIT led the technology platform dealing with the development of a novel in-vitro diagnostic method based on nanoparticles combining plasmonic and magnetic properties (Jörg Schotter, H&E Department).

NAMDIATREAM has successfully developed innovative diagnostic devices for the early diagnosis of three common cancer types: lung, breast and prostate. NAMDIATREAM technology is based on cutting edge nanotechnology-based tools for multi-modal detection of biomarkers, permitting identification of cells indicative of early disease onset in a high-specificity and throughput format in clinical, laboratory and point-of-care devices.
