The constant growth in transport volumes and loads is constantly putting the transport infrastructure under ever greater strain owing to the complex relationships between vehicle and road/rail.
The experts from the Center for Mobility Systems integrate high-precision measurement data into numerical infrastructure models, allowing the interaction between vehicle and infrastructure to be analysed in detail and the effects to be simulated. Simulations provide a solid scientific basis for optimised planning, development and maintenance of our transport infrastructure and support the development of innovative solutions for the next generation transport infrastructure.

Analysis of the relationship between infrastructure and traffic:
- Creating optimised maintenance strategies (Life Cycle Analysis, Asset Management) for infrastructure operators
- Helping the industry to develop new road surfaces, infrastructure constructions and tyres with optimised characteristics (transport safety, noise and pollutant emissions)
- Developing services for cooperative transport systems
