Sand Casting

From the design drawing to the casting of the first prototypes to pre-series production - the LKR casting group and our partners are your competent points of contact. This includes the design and construction of components suitable for casting. With the help of mold filling and solidification simulations carried out in advance, the highest efficiency in the use of resources and energy is ensured. Models produced by 3D printing enable a fast and cost-effective transition from the design drawing to the finished prototype.

Our services

  • Casting simulation aluminum cast parts
  • Metallographic examination and evaluation
  • Component development/component simulation/component design
  • Casting-compatible design of machine components
  • Conceptual design from component drawing to prototype casting
  • Component sampling/prototyping/preproduction series
  • Holistic solution approaches from the idea to the component suitable for series production
  • Prototype development (3D printed model, casting of prototypes)
  • Consulting on optimization potentials for sand casting processes (energy efficiency, resource conservation)
  • Optimization of existing models, cast components (reduction of recycled material, scrap)
  • Provision of plant capacity (rental option)
  • Maximum mold box size: 1300 x 1500 x 450 mm

The promotion and education of young talent is an essential part of both research and production. Thus, it is our intention to create an awareness for the foundry industry even before graduation.

Together with the Leibniz School in Wiesbaden, we have therefore created an event where knowledge is imparted and what is learned can be applied directly. A lecture on engineering, the foundry industry and casting as a production process forms the basis for the practical part that follows. A cast of the school logo by means of sand casting, which is awarded as a prize for special social commitment at the school, illustrates the theory in practice for the students.

This event is to be repeated annually.
