The Productivity Board has appointed nineteen renowned experts from science and research to its pool of experts. They are to contribute to the scientific quality assurance of the Productivity Board's work and advise it on specific issues. One of them is Matthias Weber, Head of Center for Innovation Systems & Policy.

The experts will support the Productivity Board in its analyses of Austria's productivity and competitiveness with their profound knowledge. This will also add weight to the economic policy recommendations for the government.

The Productivity Board is part of the EU-wide economic policy coordination mechanisms. It is independent and consists of five members with relevant economic policy expertise who are not bound by directives. The primary task of the Productivity Board is to systematically analyse the development of domestic productivity and competitiveness. On the basis of these analyses, the council identifies measures and reforms to strengthen the Austrian economy and makes recommendations to the Austrian federal government. The Productivity Board reports annually to the Nationalrat. The experts will provide advice to the Productivity Board and thus contribute to the quality assurance of its analyses and recommendations.
