The international conference with approximately 4.500 people from at least 90 countries gave the opportunity to debate current issues like airport design and planning, security or customer services, form business relationships and to see and experience the very latest products, Services and technologies.
AIT presented EXPERIENCE – its new consulting service for the evaluation of wayfinding systems and architectural designs using virtual reality technologies. It uses a test environment allowing persons to walk through a virtual 3D model of a building or urban environment while measuring and analyzing their movement, visual attention and relevant behavioral characteristics. For a high level of realism, EXPERIENCE combines immersive visual computing technologies, characteristic soundscapes and cutting-edge crowd simulations – based on our in-house framework SIMULATE, which is also used for evacuation and capacity analysis of infrastructures.
Furthermore visitors also had the possibility to learn more about “AIT Smart Survey”, a novel tool for mobility surveys using smartphones. Smart Survey automatically distinguishes eight different transport modes and collects detailed and reliable information on distances covered for cities, municipalities, traffic planners and mobility researchers.
