AIT at Smart City Expo 2018
Over the next few decades, the continuing urbanization and overall growth of the world´s population is projected to add 2.5 billion people to the cities. All regions in the world are expected to urbanize further, especially in Asia and Africa, where the fastest growing cities are located.
The annual Smart City Expo World Congress, taking place from November 13 to 15 in Barcelona, will address the major challenges for the cities of the future. With about 17.000 visitors, 600 exhibitors, 600 participating cities, 420 speakers and more than 50 side events, Smart City Expo is the world's largest and most important smart city congress. It is the meeting point for companies, public sector, startups, academia and citizens working together for the sustainable development of cities.
AIT will present its services and solutions for the cities of the future at Stand B290 – experts from the Center for Energy and the Center for Mobility Systems will showcase innovative tools for urban planning, urban management and transport optimization.
At the trade fair, the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology together with AIT is inviting to the Workshop “Towards Positive-Energy-Districts“ scheduled on Nov. 13, at 15:00 and hosted by the funding programme “City of Tomorrow”.
