SOPHIA

SOlar PHotovoltaics InfrAstructure

The SOPHIA project brings together 17 main Photovoltaic Research Centres in Europe and three additional partners, EUREC, DERlab and Agency and the European Photovoltaic Industry Association, providing links to the industry and to the rest of the research community. The main objective of this project is to provide the industrial and scientific communities with common referential to conduct efficient and coordinated research works in the field of PV technologies and applications.

Most aspects of photovoltaics will be addressed, ranging from specific material issues (silicon, thin films, organic) to cell modelling and from photovoltaic module lifetime to complete system characterisation.
