NEB Junction: A new platform to accelerate sustainable transformation across Europe

18.06.2025

On June 17, 2025, the new European knowledge platform NEB Junction was officially launched in Brussels. Supported by the EU funding program Horizon Europe, this initiative aims to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful future across Europe.

NEB Junction serves as a central hub for insights and results within the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. Since 2021, hundreds of projects have been launched under the NEB umbrella, many of them supported by local communities and committed citizens. The new platform aims to bundle this extensive knowledge, make it accessible, and facilitate its transfer into practice.

“NEB Junction is a real turning point. The platform enables anyone who wants to actively and sustainably change their environment to access proven solutions – openly, practically and inspiringly,” says Prof. Annemie Wyckmans from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), who is coordinating the project.

The online platform offers, among other things:

  • Curated “knowledge gems” with insights from real projects
  • Interactive workshops and meetings with stakeholders from across Europe
  • Tools, reports, and policy recommendations for your own NEB initiatives
  • A transdisciplinary community—from artists to urban planners
  • Linking impact indicators in areas such as the environment, health, culture, and governance

The project is supported by a strong European consortium, which includes NTNU, Climate-KIC, the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), Ars Electronica, ICLEI, ERRIN, Dowel Innovation, and Democratic Society, among others.

The platform is now online at www.nebjunction.eu. It is intended as an open offer for cities, municipalities, NGOs, cultural professionals, and all citizens who want to put the vision of the New European Bauhaus into practice locally.
