The consequences of climate change can be experienced across all areas of life in various forms. The impacts are also perceived in the school daily life with increasing frequency. Funded by the Sparkling Science 2.0 research call, the project “Climate Ready Schools” aims to improve the climate resilience of Austrian schools based on a citizen science and co-creation approach with 6 partner schools: (1) status quo surveys of the current impact of the present climate situation are being conducted and (2) potential measures to increase climate resilience (climate change adaptation and climate protection) are being researched, developed, tested and evaluated under the special requirements of everyday school life.
