In its new Foresight Brief from the series ‘Transformative Pathways and Strategies’, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology focuses on the question of what skills Austria needs to achieve its goal of climate neutrality by 2040.
Green skills and green jobs are at the heart of a comprehensive transformation of the economy, society and education. The policy brief ‘Future skills for a climate-neutral Austria: Green skills and green jobs as a guide for transformation’ identifies key challenges and formulates strategic recommendations.
It identifies key challenges along the transformation path and formulates strategic recommendations to ensure that green skills and green jobs are established in Austria in a sustainable manner.

The letter is based on a well-founded analysis of the future, qualitative European scenarios up to 2050 and a structured interactive dialogue process with experts from business, science, administration and civil society. ‘Green skills are the key to a successful, fair and sustainable Austria,’ say the two authors, Susanne Giesecke and Dana Wasserbacher.
