Retrofitting Heat Pump Systems in Large Non-domestic Buildings
The project primarily aims to provide practical evidence that larger non-residential buildings can be successfully retrofitted with heat pumps for heating and cooling. The focus is on industrial buildings, hospitals, shopping centres, and educational institutions (kindergartens, schools, universities, and museums). Easy-to-handle, easily accessible recommendations in the form of guidelines will be developed, in which the selection of suitable system components for the above-mentioned types of non-residential buildings with their relative advantages and disadvantages will be presented and evaluated on the basis of selected reference projects. Comparable work has not yet been carried out in any project.
