Save the date: 23rd Security Conference in Krems

“How much security does our freedom need?”
 

This year's security conference in Krems is dedicated to the tension between personal freedom and public safety. 

Experts from politics, research, law, and practice discuss current challenges for our democracy and take a look at the role of artificial intelligence in the security architecture of the future.

Programm-Highlights:

  • Keynote speech by Mag. Dr. Arnold Kammel, Secretary General of the Federal Ministry of Defense: “Freedom or security? A challenge for modern democracies”
  • Lecture by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Filzmaier: “The relationship between security and freedom in democracy”
  • Panel discussion with representatives from state security, the military, law, and research – moderated by Prof. Mag. Martin Haidinger (ORF)
  • Contribution by Jutta Edthofer, MBA (Federal Chancellery): “Security policy and the preservation of democratic values”
  • Lecture by Mina Schütz, MSc (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology): “Freedom and security in 2040: Opportunities and risks of an AI-driven world”
