Vienna, October 2025 – AIT researcher Bernhard Bürger, scientist at the Center for Digital Safety & Security, has been honored with the prestigious Camillo Award 2025 in the Support category. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of emergency services.
Bernhard Bürger is involved in numerous projects for the further development of technologies and strategies for public safety and crisis management. His focus is on the interface between research, emergency services, and authorities – with the aim of strengthening resilience and efficiency in emergencies.
The Camillo Award, named after Camillo de Lellis, the patron saint of paramedics and emergency services, is presented annually to individuals and organizations that have made a special contribution to rescue and disaster management in Austria.
With his expertise and commitment, Bernhard Bürger represents the practical research work of the AIT in the field of crisis and disaster management.
