At the end of January, an interactive stakeholder workshop on policy options for the future of work from an Industry 5.0 perspective took place in Vienna as part of the EU project Bridges 5.0. The event was organised in cooperation with the Industry 4.0 Austria platform and brought together key players from research, policy, social partnership and practice.
Bridges 5.0 is a European research and innovation project that focuses on shaping a human-centred, sustainable and resilient industry and world of work in line with Industry 5.0.
The workshop centred on the question of how policy design can support a human-centred, sustainable and resilient industrial transformation. Building on the future scenarios developed in the project, concrete fields of action, action points and policy recommendations for shaping the future world of work were discussed together.
The interactive format with moderated group discussions enabled an intensive exchange between the participants and helped to combine scientific findings with a practical policy perspective. The workshop thus made an important contribution to the further development of policy approaches in line with Industry 5.0.
The stakeholder workshop marked the conclusion of Bridges 5.0 Austria Week (19–22 January 2026), which, in addition to the workshop, also included project visits in Kapfenberg and Villach as well as a Review meeting at AIT in Vienna.
