Global supply chains are becoming increasingly interconnected – and with this comes a growing exposure to cyber threats, ranging from compromised software components to attacks on critical infrastructures. To help organisations strengthen their preparedness, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is hosting a hands-on training series as part of the KIRAS project SOPHIE.
Participants will experience realistic training environments that demonstrate how to identify, manage, and mitigate cyber incidents and how such incidents can cascade along supply chains. The programme is tailored to two professional groups and adapted to their needs: IT support and administrative staff as well as logistics and organisational personnel.
Training Highlights
- Live cyber incident demonstration including alerts, technical analysis, reporting, and damage control (for IT professionals).
- Simulation of cascading effects across interconnected supply chains – what happens when incidents occur in your own or in partner organisations? (for logistics & organisational staff)
- Cyber resilience, emergency planning, and communication across organisational boundaries.
- Practical advice for protecting private digital environments from collateral damage.
Dates
17–19 February 2026 at AIT, Giefinggasse 6, 1210 Vienna
- Day 1: Introduction to system security, hacking tools & cyber incident exercise
- Day 2: Supply chain management fundamentals & cascading effect simulation
- Day 3: Full-day cyber resilience, incident response & communication exercise
Participants may register for individual days or the full three-day programme. The training will be held in German.
Free of Charge
Thanks to funding from the KIRAS research programme, participation in the SOPHIE training series is free of charge.
