On October 20, 2025, Future Network and CON•ECT Eventmanagement invited guests to the Reiter Hall of the Austrian Control Bank to highlight key developments in information security, cloud architectures, knowledge management, and artificial intelligence as part of the “IT in Transition” event. High-profile speakers from research and industry ensured a wide-ranging program and lively discussions.
The focus was on the challenges and opportunities presented by modern AI systems. Ross King, HoCu Data Science & Artificial Intelligence at the Center for Digital Safety & Security, gave an impressive presentation on the security risks that can arise from prompt injections. At the same time, he looked ahead to future working environments in which human-AI teaming and “agentic AI” will play a central role. The question of whether machines can become true partners to humans in the future led to an exciting discussion.
With a focus on standardization and regulation, Erwin Schoitsch from the Center for Digital Safety & Security presented international standards and ethical guidelines designed to strengthen trust in AI technologies. He emphasized the importance of consistently involving humans in decision-making processes—in line with the principle of “keeping humans in the loop.”
Other items on the agenda included business continuity, cloud integration, enterprise architecture management, and immersive technologies in the context of Society 5.0. Practical examples and scientific perspectives clearly demonstrated how rapidly requirements and tools are growing in modern IT landscapes.
Overall, the event made it clear that security, resilience, responsible use of AI, and robust standards are essential cornerstones for a sustainable digital transformation.
