Transformative research is oriented towards concrete societal problems and actively supports society in overcoming them. For transformative research to succeed, there needs to be active cooperation between science and society in a transdisciplinary manner.
In order to deepen transformation theories, context-specific models and intervention capabilities, AIT was hosting a transdisciplinary two-day workshop from 1st to 2nd December 2022 in Vienna.
The workshop brought together a multi-faceted set of state-of the art approaches and experiences of Transformative Research in Europe. 25-30 Researchers from transdisciplinary institutes and universities across Europe were working towards the provision of structured, comprehensive knowledge and associated skills to support and shape transformation processes. The workshop aimed to identify gaps and needs for setting the future research agenda on Transformative Research. By combining systems knowledge, transformation knowledge and reflexive knowledge, the workshop worked towards the needed cross-cutting knowledge for governance and policy interventions on national and EU level.
