31.07.2023
Two renowned institutions join forces for future-oriented research and development.

The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) is pleased to announce a strategic cooperation with Danube Private University (DPU). This partnership aims to leverage the expertise of both institutions and create synergies in the areas of research and development.

Together, the two institutions will work on various research projects ranging from the development of diagnostic assays to the application of artificial intelligence in diagnostics. Robert Wagner, Director of DPU: "As the largest non-university research institution in Austria, AIT is one of the leading institutions in technology development in Europe. Together with this strong partner, we will ensure further developments in medical diagnostics."

Prof. Dr. Elke Guenther, Head of Center for Health and Bioresources, and coordinator of the cooperation on the part of AIT, commented on the partnership: "This cooperation is a significant step for both institutions. By exchanging know-how and resources, we can jointly develop innovative solutions in the field of life sciences for the challenges of tomorrow."

The strategic cooperation includes not only the exchange of data and expertise, but also the project-specific secondment of staff for the purpose of training and further education. Winfried Neuhaus, Principal Scientist at the AIT Center for Health and Bioresources and expert on biological barriers, is already Austria's first professor for 3Rs and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) at the DPU. This makes DPU a pioneer in the field of alternatives to animal testing.

The partnership, which is initially set for five years, is not only intended to promote scientific progress at both institutions, but also to help further develop Austria as a leading location for research and innovation.
