Giulia Scampone, researcher at the LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, has been nominated for the diversity4innovation Award. With this award, Upper Austrian Research GmbH is honoring researchers from the UAR Innovation Network for the first time on the occasion of its 25th anniversary who are particularly committed to diversity, equal opportunities, and inclusion, or whose scientific work is significantly influenced by these values. The aim of the award is to highlight pioneers who are shaping a forward-looking research culture through their commitment.
Giulia Scampone's nomination highlights her commitment to a diverse, open, and appreciative work environment. She emphasizes that diversity encompasses not only gender and cultural issues, but also different professional backgrounds. People with theoretical and practical knowledge work closely together in her team. According to Scampone, the key is “listening to each other, understanding different perspectives, and finding common ground—proactive communication is both a challenge and a great opportunity.”
