LET’S TECH-Video contest

17.05.2022
Pupils videos on "Mobility of the Future" receive awards

Together with the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, the OVE Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering successfully concluded its eighth video competition for young talents with an award ceremony in Vienna on May 12, 2022. A total of six creative student videos on the topic of "Mobility of the Future" were awarded prizes. For the first time, an audience award was also presented.

The mobility of the future should be resource-friendly and environmentally friendly. But how can this be achieved? How will our mobility change? In their videos for the LET'S TECH video competition, students from the 5th grade upwards creatively explored possible future scenarios. A jury chaired by Austria-Tech CEO Martin Russ selected five winning videos from all the submissions. In addition, there was an audience award for the first time. More than 8,000 votes were cast in the online voting.

At the award ceremony on May 12 at the House of Engineers in Vienna, OVE President Kari Kapsch addressed the award winners directly: "The future is electric, especially in transport. To find and implement the mobility solutions of tomorrow, we need you - your ideas, your creativity and your commitment. You have it in your hands to positively change the world!" The students were given an insight into the technologies of the future by Helmut Leopold, Head of Center for Digital Safety & Security at AIT. He gave a keynote presentation on how autonomous driving can work and why it is needed.
