AIT expert Anna Huditz in conversation with the ÖAMTC auto touring magazine

Climate change and ageing processes are putting Austria's road network under increasing pressure - renovation and predictive maintenance are more important than ever. High-resolution satellite data, fiber optic sensors in the road surface and AI-supported analyses help to detect damage at an early stage and sustainably extend the service life of roads and bridges.

AIT expert Anna Huditz explains in the latest article in auto touring magazine on oeamtc.at which technologies can be used to make road construction and maintenance more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly. The article also covers innovative measurement methods such as the RoadSTAR mobile high-performance laboratory, which analyzes the road surface for skid resistance and damage when driving over it, and new approaches to accident prevention in urban areas.
