Whether autonomous driving, smart production, or medicine: artificial intelligence is changing our world. But where machines make decisions, a safe and ethical framework is necessary. At the same time, Europe is in danger of falling behind in the rapid market development of AI models and IT infrastructure. At the event “AI with Responsibility: Ethics, Technology, Transparency, and Security” organized by the Future Network platform and training specialist and partner Con.Ect Eventmanagement on June 25 in Vienna, the challenges for the business location and our society were examined and discussed from different perspectives.
The hosts Markus Manz, CEO of the Software Competence Center Hagenberg, David Steinmetz from Future Network, and Con.Ect Managing Director Bettina Hainschink emphasized the network character and necessary dialogue between research, industry, and users. "AI definitely needs a certain degree of regulation and standardization in order to be used reliably and safely. At the same time, we need to pick up speed in Europe,“ said Markus Manz, pointing to a certain ”discrepancy.“ The domestic economy has no reason to hide, according to the SCCH managing director: ”Numerous innovative companies are proving that AI can also be used responsibly and successfully in Austria."
This event was organized by Future Network, ConEct Eventmanagement, and itSMF Austria with support from AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and Software Competence Center Hagenberg.
