On November 19, 2020, Univ. Prof. Dr. Siegfried Meryn and Urban Innovation Vienna, Coordination Office of DigitalCity.Wien, invited on behalf of the City of Vienna to "THINKING DIGITAL HEALTH FORWARD Foresight #8". On board, AIT Telehealth expert Priv.-Doz. DI Dr. Günter Schreier, Center for Health & Bioresources, and long-time project partner Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gerhard Pölzl from the Tirol Kliniken.
In the webinar Günter Schreier introduced the AIT Telehealth platform and also presented its background. The platform supports health professionals in meeting the challenges of the current Covid-19 pandemic as well as chronic diseases such as heart failure or diabetes. Gerhard Pölzl followed up seamlessly with his presentation and showed the HerzMobil Tirol project as a successful telehealth program that has already become part of regular care.
In order to give more space to the lively and positive exchange between the participants in the question and answer session, the last presentation "Outlook: Artificial Intelligence for Telemedical Adherence Management" was postponed to a future event, so we can look forward to a continuation of the topic soon.
AIT is part of the HEALTH.DigialCity.Wien network since this year through the Center for Health & Bioresources and was already part of the "Foresight #7" in September. After the welcome by Siegfried Meryn and introduction of the new cooperation partner AIT, by Dirk Holste, Günter Schreier spoke in his keynote about the topic "From eHealth to dHealth". Afterwards, Werner Bogendorfer, Director of Health & Innovations of AIT's long-standing cooperation partner BVAEB Versicherungsanstalt öffentlicher Bediensteter, Eisenbahn und Bergbau, reported on the Lessions learned and eHealth in the public sector.
As part of HEALTH.DigitalCity.Wien, the DigitalCity.Wien Initiative will highlight the most urgent questions surrounding future tech and digitization in the healthcare sector. HEALTH.DigitalCity.Wien is aimed at the interested public, the medical profession and the academic and business sectors of medicine, thus establishing an Austrian knowledge network for current trends and visions and providing an outlook into the future today.
