The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and the AIT-SpinOff Telbiomed have gained Siemens Healthineers as an international cooperation, sales and development partner.
Based on the AIT Telehealth platform, a flexible telemedicine solution will be further developed and internationalized. The healthcare solution for the care of chronically ill patients is already being successfully established as HerzMobil in Tyrol and Styria in routine use for patients with chronic heart failure. The underlying technology can be flexibly adapted to the needs of healthcare providers.
The Telehealth solution supports patients and medical staff in their ongoing care and allows them to react quickly to deterioration in their state of health. "Together with Telbiomed, we have succeeded in bringing AIT technology into the care system in Tyrol and Styria. With Siemens Healthineers, we have gained a globally recognized partner in the healthcare sector to further internationalize AIT technology," explains Prof. Dr. Elke Guenther, Head of Center for Health & Bioresources at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology.
The AIT Telehealth platform has been adapted for the current COVID-19 pandemic to facilitate the care of people with unclear COVID-19 status for health authorities and medical professionals. The system is currently being prepared for use in Tyrol and, together with Telbiomed and Siemens Healthineers, this application is already being used internationally in a variety of ways, for example at Bendigo Health in Australia and at the University Hospital in Mannheim.
The partnership between AIT, telbiomed and Siemens Healthineers shows once again that innovations developed and tested in Austria are not only used at home but also internationally.
