A safe and efficient battery system based on advanced cell technology
Battery management is at the heart of every energy storage system. The BMS must continuously monitor, protect, and balance the battery’s operation—from individual cells to the entire system.
However, conventional systems face limitations in terms of scalability, communication speed, and fault tolerance—challenges that are further exacerbated by the integration of new materials and architectures.
The innovation: a multi-layered, intelligent control system
The BATSS-BMS introduces a two-tier wireless architecture:
- A master BMS that monitors system-wide parameters and ensures consistent operation as well as communication with external systems such as inverters.
- The MMS, a low-power module controller that supports balancing currents of up to 400 mA.
The architecture enables a flexible and autonomous design with internal wireless RF communication in the 2.4 GHz band and provides a secure and reliable communication channel. The BMS supports a variety of communication interfaces such as CAN and Modbus RTU. Together, they form a robust and scalable control framework capable of managing advanced battery architectures while supporting improved energy efficiency and enhanced diagnostic capabilities.
