The research focus of defalsif-AI (detection of false information using artificial intelligence) is on audiovisual media forensics, text analysis and the fusion of these technologies with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). Great attention is paid to the comprehensive and interpretable presentation of the results - the final decision and evaluation as to whether content is "false" or not is left to the users.

The aim is to demonstrate a valuable tool for the analysis of digital content on the internet that enables an initial assessment of texts, images, videos or audios for credibility and/or authenticity. This creates the basis for further recommendations of action.

The project also includes an analysis and assessment of the media forensic tool from a legal and social science perspective.  To round-off the project defalsif-AI, application-oriented, technical and organisational measures will be derived, as well as an exploitation plan for the future operation of disinformation analysis platforms compliant with the rule of law.
