Prototypes for validated and automatic mobility surveys with mobile devices
The objective of PROVAMO was to develop software prototypes for automatic travel mode identification with mobile devices such as smartphones or passive GPS trackers.
The prototypes were validated in a field test under real-world conditions. Analysis of the data quality and the results of an online survey on user acceptance revealed both promising results and useful recommendations for future technology-based surveys. The project results were a major pillar of AIT’s solution for capturing travel demand with smartphones and Travel Mode Identification.
