engaging citizens - mobilizing technology - delivering the green deal
GREENGAGE’s vision is to promote innovative governance processes and support cities and regions in the development and implementation of their climate protection and adaptation measures. The project utilises so-called Citizen Observatories (CO), which will be implemented in 5 pilot cities and regions: Bristol (United Kingdom), Copenhagen (Denmark), North Brabant (Netherlands) and Turano & Gerace (Italy). The COs deal, e.g., with mobility and air quality related challenges and are intended to support the realisation of CO2-neutral urban districts, the development of measures to combat rural depopulation and the optimisation of mobility infrastructure. To achieve this, earth observation and in-situ data will be combined with data from the COs to gain new insights that can support policy design and decision-making processes. As part of this co-design process, particular attention will be paid to historically underrepresented groups.
