Social and spatial assessment of those affected by mobility poverty in Austria
Based on a technical definition of the term ‘mobility poverty’, the ‘erREICHbar’ project estimated the households affected by mobility poverty and presented their regional distribution. Based on typical personas, mobility barriers and obstacles were presented for the affected households and measures to minimise them were identified. In addition, it was discussed how target group-orientated communication can support the use of available mobility services.
In addition to data and GIS analyses and literature research, two focus groups were conducted with intermediary representatives of people affected by mobility poverty. These identified barriers and obstacles for the groups of people and developed proposals for measures and tips for communication strategies.
