From 4 to 6 November 2025, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology will present its latest innovations in the field of sustainable and circular urban development at the Smart City Expo in Barcelona. You will find us at the stand of Außenwirtschaft Österreich, Gran Via, Hall 2, Level 0, Aisle D, Stand 61.
Highlights of this year's exhibition:
AIT presents new tools for quantifiable sustainability assessments and variant comparisons
The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology will be presenting innovative methods and digital tools from the City Intelligence Lab that make it possible to make complex planning and urban development measurable, comparable and understandable. With clearly measurable assessments and interactive dashboards, the AIT helps to make decisions based on facts - for more sustainability, energy efficiency, resource conservation and climate resilience. www.ait.ac.at/cil
Presentation at the Shaping Mobility Stage
A special highlight is the presentation "Autonomous Bus & Mobility Innovations: Austria's Road to the Future" on 4 November 2025 from 15:15 to 16:00 at the Shaping Mobility Stage. As part of this session, cooperation projects of the AIT and the "Smart Urban Region Austria Alps Adriatic (SURAAA)" will be presented. Markus Ray, Head of Competence Unit Digital Resilient Cities at AIT, will present the latest developments and innovative approaches to autonomous driving and intelligent mobility solutions together with Walter Prutej from SURAAA.
AIT presents the future of navigation with egeniouss
With the EU project "egeniouss", AIT is presenting a new solution for reliable navigation at the Smart City World Congress. Satellite navigation is the basis of many services today, but is imprecise in cities due to tall buildings and can easily be disrupted. "egeniouss" makes precise localisation available to everyone - with a cloud-based solution that only requires a smartphone or smartwatch and can also be integrated into vehicles, drones or trains. This makes navigation more accurate, safer and independent of individual satellite signals. https://www.ait.ac.at/en/about-the-ait/center/center-for-vision-automation-control/assistive-autonomous-systems/projects/egeniouss
