A parked city center, numerous trucks of various sizes with small delivery volumes - this familiar form of goods delivery in cities causes traffic jams on the roads, considerable pollution and noise, high energy consumption and, last but not least, increased transport costs.
After the award “HERMES Logistkpreis 2019”, the GrazLog project received an honor from the VCÖ Mobility Award Styria 2021 for the development of a cooperative city logistics model to solve this problem. With the help of a so-called "City Hub", a city logistics center, the delivery of goods and returns are all brought to the same place. Emission-free cargo bicycles or electric vehicles are used for delivery and collection in an agreed time window with optimal route planning.
