Phase front detector

FronTector aims at exploring the techno-economic feasibility of an innovative measurement method to determine the state of charge of industrial solid/liquid latent heat thermal energy storages. Established local measurement methods are costly and provide only a limited resolution of the phase change progress in the storage tank. The fronTector measurement technology is based on the accurate localization of the phase front position and therefore derives more accurate information on the phase fraction and the state of charge. The fronTector measurement methodology is novel and has a high potential to establish itself as a basic technology for the prognosis-based operation management of latent heat storage systems.
