Inter Laboratory Test on measurement methods EN 1793-5 & 6
In 2018, the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology organized an interlaboratory test (ILT) on measurement methods for testing sound reflection according to EN 1793-5 and airborne sound insulation according to EN 1793-6. This test was a key step to implementing these new standards as routine methods for acoustic approval testing and monitoring of noise barriers in several countries.
Objective of the ILT was to improve the available knowledge on the uncertainty of the measurement methods and the accuracy of the results of the participating laboratories. The experiment was organized in Vienna at the AIT facilities, hosting 9 participating institutes in total. Repeatability and reproducibility of the methods were assessed using statistical analysis of the results. An anonymized final report on the comparison of the test results was delivered to the participants and the anonymized results will be published at conferences and in scientific journals.
