On the occasion of the Austrian Armed Forces' information and performance exhibition on Austria's National Day, the Center for Vision, Automation & Control of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology will present selected research results in the field of unmanned aviation.
The focus is on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) that, in swarm formations, provide near real-time operational images from the air, thereby supporting authorities and organizations with security responsibilities in optimizing their operations. Additionally on show will be, the cutting-edge unmanned aircraft - ELENA - approved under the EASA 'Specific' category and designed for long-endurance missions as well as beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations. It utilizes a hydrogen fuel cell for zero emissions and is partially constructed from sustainable bio-composite materials.
